Monitoring Program and Reporting Requirements |
|
The objectives of the Monitoring Program are as follows:
-
Ensure that storm water discharges are in compliance with the Discharge Prohibitions, Effluent Limitations, and Receiving Water Limitations.
-
Ensure practices at the facility to reduce or prevent pollutants in storm water discharges and authorized nonstorm water discharges are evaluated and revised to meet changing conditions.
-
Aid in the implementation and revision of the SWPPP.
-
Measure the effectiveness of best management practices (BMPs) to prevent or reduce pollutants in storm water discharges and authorized non-storm water discharges. Much of the information necessary to develop the monitoring program, such as discharge locations, drainage areas, pollutant sources, etc., should be found in the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP). The facility's monitoring program shall be a written, sitespecific document that shall be revised whenever appropriate and be readily available for review by employees or Regional Water Board inspectors.
